After
our big day yesterday we had a day to phaff around and do whatever we wanted.
First
cab off the rank was two loads of washing in the machines at CP.
The and van patiently waiting to be taken for a bath. |
Second
task after a slice of leftover pizza for breakfast was washing the car and van of the mud
collected yesterday. The car wash was not a pretty site when we left, nor were
Dad and I, there was also a considerable amount of money added to the coin
slot. Home for a shower and to ditch the TVan. Hang the washing out. Add our
filthy ones to last load and get that on to wash also.
Feeling
cleaner and with a sense of accomplishment with the car and van, we headed off
to the post office to collect my tent parts - sent most efficiently by
Tentworld- who have been very helpful throughout. Also got Dad some new shorts,
shirts and socks.
My new tent parts...only need one, but got four just in case. |
Dad
needed a new head torch so we dropped into BCF for that and we hoped a plug for
the TVan sink - I didn't put the other one away properly and now it's lost. No
plug luck, so Bunnings next - got one. Only to try it on yet another trip back
to the CP. It's too big. We'd forgotten spuds too, so back to supermarket for
me.
We
needed fuel and to fill jerry cans - so home again where Dad sorted getting two
jerries into the car, while I sorted dry washing and hung out our last load.
Then
back into town for alcohol top up. Asked the friendly lady where we should eat
and where we might get a plug.
Yummy
lunch at Coffee Club, Steve and Carmel arrived about 3.30. Steve has been
having a 'day' with things not going to plan exactly.
Dad
and I headed for Home hardware who I'd rung and thought they had a plug.
Arrived around 4.30. On the trip back from industrial area we saw the humungous
piles of whatever it is they mine here. There are man made mountains of the
stuff.
All
this driving around town has allowed us to see some of the town/mine etc.
We
popped up to the Lookout for a squiz after we got fuel
Then
it was home to phaff around some more. Meg texted with dinner plans.
We
have taken all day to do what needed to be done
View of Mt Isa from the Lookout. |
and again. |
we are a long way from a lot of places. |
Definitely a house on the hill. |
You can see the vehicles kicking up dust as they drive along the top of the humungous piles of stuff. |
The stadium, multi sports venue and entertainment centre - Buchanan Park |
Some night views from Lookout |
Dinner
was at the Isa Hotel, basically a steak house. I had a delicious filet Mignon.
If you bought a steak you could purchase an Isa Hotel steak knife, so with my
steak I got one for Jadon. Then when Steve and. Stef saw it they wanted one
too. Everyone enjoyed a delicious and large meal.
Home
again and Dad and I decided to download the Hema app to his iPad, using the new
Telstra wi fi thingo Dad bought. After a lot of Fiddling around we got it
downloading, I did a couple of days Blog and left the app downloading.
Bed.
